Welcome to PDFPassword.in. We are a collective of privacy advocates and security researchers dedicated to providing a secure way to unlock password-protected documents in India.
Why We Built This
Every month, millions of Indians receive highly sensitive documents—bank statements, credit card bills, and salary slips—as password-protected PDFs. While the encryption protects data in transit, the experience for users is incredibly frustrating. Is the password the first 4 letters of your name? Your PAN? Your date of birth in DDMMYY format or YYYYMMDD?
We noticed that people were resorting to uploading these extremely sensitive financial documents to sketchy “free PDF password remover” websites, unknowingly exposing their personal data and transaction histories to third parties.
We built PDFPassword.in to solve this. We've reverse-engineered and documented the password generation rules for over 220+ Indian financial institutions, HR departments, and government bodies.
How It Works: 100% Private Architecture
Your privacy is not just a promise; it is mathematically guaranteed by our architecture. We never upload your PDFs or your personal data to any server.
- Password Generation: The rules engine runs entirely in your browser using local JavaScript. When you type your PAN or Date of Birth, it never leaves your device.
- PDF Decryption: If you use our tool to permanently remove a password from a PDF, the decryption is performed locally using the
qpdfC++ library, which we compiled to WebAssembly (WASM). This allows enterprise-grade PDF manipulation to run securely inside the sandbox of your web browser.
